International Residency Training Programme
The International Residency Training Programme (IRTP) is a three-year training programme developed by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) in conjunction with overseas partners to give you the opportunity to complete your core training in Ireland.
The Programme is fully delivered in Ireland, certified by RCPI, and recognised for registration purposes by our partners.
The IRTP is designed to train doctors in the secondary care and preventing adult and paediatric disease and illness in active clinical environments.
Successful completion of the IRTP with RCPI leads to:

"Being a Trainee with RCPI was a dream come true for me. One of the most important things I learned from being a Trainee in Ireland is how to improve doctor-patient communication.
If you want to understand the meaning of patient-centered care, just come here. There really is person-centered care and great doctor-patient communication, inside and outside the hospitals."

“The move to Ireland was a dream for me. I was so nervous in the beginning because I didn’t know what I would face.
I was moving my whole family here and it was made much easier with the help of the College. They linked us up with Castel Education who did an amazing job for literally everything.”
